It is hard to believe it, but we are quickly coming in to the last few weeks of our season! We truly appreciate your partnership with our family farm and hope you have been enjoying the bounty of the season these last several weeks. We wanted to let you know that we believe the last week will be hosting the market will be Saturday, November 8th. So, be sure to start using up the rest of the funds on your CSA cards as we are unfortunately not able to apply those to winter shares or next year’s season. Stock up on storage veggies like carrots, winter squash, potatoes, and onions or freeze veggies like Brussels sprouts.
A few other bits of news…
Order Quick! Storage Shares – While our regular share season will come to an end around November 8th we always plant extra storage veggies for a one-time winter share delivery in December. The storage share averages 40-50 pounds and has Beets, Carrots, Cabbage, Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes, Onions, Popcorn, Winter Squash, Oranges (Florida-grown/organic), eggs, and possibly a few other items if they store well for us (turnips, pie pumpkins, radishes.) The cost is $50 for the share and it will be delivered to your home about a week or so before Christmas. Please consider the share and let us know as soon as possible how many you would like – we usually run out so get your orders in early!
Organic Apples for Sale – We will have organic apples at the market this weekend for purchase by cash only. We will have Gala and Ida Red varieties available. The cost is very good at $1 a pound.
Cheese Available! Order by Saturday, October 25th! – After several people expressed interest in wanting to purchase cheese, we have found a local source that offers, prize-winning artisan cheese in Cleveland, Wis.: Saxon Creamery.
