News From the Farm – Sept. 26

Our summer crops were pretty much finished off by frost this past week. You will notice a couple summer crop items in your bags this week, but this will be the last week for most of those. However, even though frost has not been kind to some crops, it doesn’t mean that our season is over. We have lots of crops that do well after a frost and in cooler weather. You can still expect to see beets, cabbage, carrots, cilantro, parsley, kale, leeks, onions, potatoes, some winter squash, sweet potatoes, popcorn, parsnips, lettuce, kohlrabi, garlic, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, and broccoli. In past years we’ve went into the first week of November with weekly bags delivered, but with the early frost we’ll see if we make it to November or if we’ll be closing down the season more at the end of October. Regardless, we hope you enjoy the veggies this week!
