Popcorn Ideas

Butter and salt are all you really need to make popcorn good. However a few simple additions can be amazing. For instance, use a mixture of butter and coconut oil to drizzle on. Add a teaspoon to a tablespoon of honey to the butter an/or coconut oil mixture. Shake on any spice you like onto your popcorn, such as cinnamon, ground cloves, nutmeg, allspice, or cardamom. You can even use savory spices like red pepper, ginger, wasabi, or paprika for a fiery bite. You can grate up any hard cheese and sprinkle it over the still hot popcorn. Or for an unbelievable treat, make HOMEMADE CARAMEL CORN. It may just be the best you’ve ever had.

1 cup honey, sorghum, or other sweetener

½ cup butter

Pinch of salt

1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 c. uncooked popcorn, then pop it

Bring first 3 ingredients to a boil; boil 5 minutes. Add baking soda and vanilla extract. Pour over popped corn.

Bake at 225°F for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. (Drizzle with thin streams of melted chocolate or eat with sliced tart apples as an added treat.)
